Serco and NedRailways have established a highly-regarded partnership through their joint venture in the UK, which manages two major rail operations – Merseyrail and Northern Rail. Our success is founded on the complementary strengths of the two parties and, particularly, the style in which we proactively work in partnership with key stakeholders.

The Serco-NedRailways joint venture is based on a shared vision with service quality at its heart. We are determined to bring a fresh approach to the delivery of passenger transport services based on a unique blend of Serco’s world-class service credentials and the unrivalled public transport and rail infrastructure development experience NedRailways brings. This combination of skills and experience has resulted in Serco-NedRailways delivering some of the highest train punctuality levels in the UK, with equal progress in improving passenger and employee satisfaction.

Working closely with central and local government and community groups, our rail operations are helping to address the challenges of economic growth, regeneration, environmental performance and social inclusion in major UK cities and metropolitan areas. In this way they are making a considerable contribution to realising the wider visions and aspirations political leaders and communities have for their areas.
